National Endangered Species Day started unofficially on December 28th, 1973 when President Richard Nixon signed the Federal Endangered Species Act into law. Their main focus is to educate the public about endangered species and improving conservation. By educating people and spreading awareness of the issue they hope to make a huge impact across the world.
